Emil Schürer (1844 – 1910) was a
German Protestant theologian known mainly for his study of the history
of the Jews around the time of Jesus' ministry. His elaborate work on
the history of the Jews in the time of Christ, made him one of the best
known of modern German scholars in Great Britain and the United States.
This scholarly work includes essays on the political and religious establishments of the day (both Roman and Jewish), portraits of leading figures, messianic movements, cultural details, and surveys of relevant Jewish and Greek literature.
Our Bible Analyzer module includes all five volumes, including the extensive footnotes.
