"Copy selection" and "Copy 'verse' text" from BA to LibreOffice Writer/Kate doesn't work as expected via CTRL-V or right-click->paste.
If ran from the console, BA does output the copied text to the console upon right click (which is the default for xsel according to the manual). It may not be a good idea to overwrite the clipboard upon right click because there are other options on the right click menu that do not pertain to copy/pasting.
Pasting via middle-mouse button does work with other applications; However, "export selection to s-pad" pastes the contents of "xsel -b" which is not the same as "xsel -p".
Based on the manual for xsel it may just be simple change of the call to xsel (adding -b) to fix this (depends what behavior you want). That, and perhaps changing the event that triggers the call (so it doesn't copy to the clipboard when the user doesn't expect it to).
PS I found out by accident today that holding ALT highlights all the words on the current page that match the one the mouse is over. Cool!
