Greek/English NT Explorer
Re: Greek/English NT Explorer
As for program names,
Linguascope is already taken. It has a pretty large presence on the internet as a learning tool.
Lexiscope is a possible alternative. There is only a kids game by that name that I can find.
Linguaview or Lexiview have a little usage and are possibilities.
Biblscope is a non-English site, a maybe.
Lexiparse, Bibleparse, Linguaparse are possibilities.
Still looking. I'm leaning towards Lexiscope, Lexiview or Lexiparse at the moment.

Re: Greek/English NT Explorer
I would like to see the NT Explorer tied into BA so I can export data to Multiwin in BA.

Re: Greek/English NT Explorer
I will likely make Explorer work both ways, standalone and integrated into Bible Analyzer.
I have been reworking the database. I am using the SBL Greek text macula data to get more syntax data for the Explorer. I mapped the SBL NT word data over to the TR words usings lemmas, etc. with a high success rate. (Except for the 20 or so verses the SBL omits) Now subject and verb and other syntax data is based on the Greek text instead of English.

Re: Greek/English NT Explorer
Cool! I am playing with using BA along with both new tools to enhance my bible study. I would like to see a button that clears all query builder fields.
Re: Greek/English NT Explorer
I have uploaded a new beta. Same link.
This one has more data from the SBL Macula text an the EngSub and EngObj columns are derived from it replacing the previous Subject, Object columns.
The PronounType and PersonalNoun columns are replaced with a Type column that has more data.
A new Syntax chart has been added.
A Clr button in the Query Builder has been added to reset all the controls.
Fixed it so "Morph" inserts are possible on Ctrl+click.
Gave it the working name of LexiScope with splash screen and icons.
The Manual is still the same. Will work on it when I get time. If someone wants to help with that submit some topics, sample querys, and such. It is tedious making user manuals.
I'm still working on the speaker data, but this beta has it corrected into Luke.
Try it out.

Re: Greek/English NT Explorer
Problem with new beta - when doing CTL-shift in a morph field it is supposed to put, as an example, Morph="V-2ADI-3S
". But it puts Lemma="V-2ADI-3S", requiring you to edit the natural edit field and change Lemma to Morph, then the search works. Can we fix?

Re: Greek/English NT Explorer
On query builder I should be able to select "All books" and select it without needing to select other options.
Re: Greek/English NT Explorer
Same issue holds when doing CTL click in lemma field - it puts Morph= rather than Lemma=
Re: Greek/English NT Explorer
Uploaded a new beta, 0.60, same link.
This one has the morph/lemma swap fixed.
I added a new table to the charts that breaks down a verse according to grammatical phrases. It lists two consecutive words that fit a number of grammatical forms, such as Verb-Object, Subject-Verb, and many others. It lists a count of all the other same constructs with a link to view. It is based on matching Lemmas by default but is an option to match exact Greek word form as well which is much more restrictive.
The links use the neat AFTER operator that can also be used in any query. It works like
verb after noun
lemma=λέγω after lemma=γάρ
etc.
Any query combination will work, even complicated ones like,
pronoun nominative masculine after noun nominative masculine
This looks for two consecutive words in the same verse and displays both rows in with color alternating.
Note:
I'm about done adding new features. If anyone can give me a typical study workflow of how to use these tools it would be helpful. This needs to be demonstrated so the average believer can see a benefit in their studies. I will try to think up some scenarios where LexiScope will help if others can also it would be a great help.

Re: Greek/English NT Explorer
Tim, we still need to open ALL books without having to select an action first! The app opens to John, but in order to select all books you have to specify an action. Can we change that asap?
