During the 20 years Bible Analyzer has been in development, your author has been continuously looking for ways to better read and study the Scriptures with computers. The ability to read the Bible text and search it for specific words and strings with software has been around for decades, but searching only by keyword or phrase has its limits. These limits are what our Dynamic Bible Explorer attempts to surpass.
Four Unique & Innovative Features
There are four functions of the Dynamic Bible Explorer that set it apart from any other Bible software:
Comprehensive Phrase Matching
Semantic Intent Searching
Extensive Category Matching
Dynamic and Consecutive Results
Comprehensive Phrase Matching is a exact word and phrase matching method that reduces any Bible phrase down to its components and searches for them accordingly. For instance, if the phrase "In the beginning god created" is entered and the Phrase Method is selected the Explorer will search for every consecutive word combination from the most words down to two. That is, it will find word groups in this order,
"In the beginning god created"
"In the beginning god"
"In the beginning"
"beginning god created"
"beginning god"
"god created"
This allows one to find all verses that share any word group in the phrase.
Semantic Intent Searching is where the innovative power of the Dynamic Explorer is seen. The word Semantic has to do with intent or meaning—what is the intent of the inquirer, and the Bible Explorer tries to discern intent with its extensive internal lists of synonymous terms and concepts. If one wants to search about "the Bible" itself, the Explorer will answer with relevant Scripture even though the term "Bible" is not found in the Scriptures. The same with "rapture," "trinity," "abortion," and many other non-Bible words.
If you ask it about the "Holy Ghost" it will know you mean the "Holy Spirit" (and many other terms) as well. The same for eternal/everlasting, sin/transgression/iniquity and countless others.
The Semantic Intent Method opens an entirely new way to find ideas and concepts in the Scriptures, especially when one doesn't know the exact terms to use.
The Extensive Category Matching feature of the Explorer is as powerful as it is innovative. One can search for all the items of a category with a simple topic word. For instance, if one wanted to search for all the kings in the Bible who were connected with music, all one need enter is king^ music^ and every verse (or paragraph) where any individual king is somehow connected with a musical term will be listed! There are dozens of categories to search with and they can be combined with keyword and semantic searching!
The results displayed by the various search methods are Dynamic and Consecutive. The Bible Explorer's searching methods are extremely fast even on older systems. When a method switch is "flipped" the display updates instantly and the results are displayed consecutively according to the Search Methods in use.
In addition to these main features there is Proximity Searching, adjustable Result Limits, Verse/Paragraph search scopes, interactive result charts and lists, export results to Bible Analyzer's MultiWindow, and more! The Dynamic Bible Explorer is truly a new and comprehensive study tool.

The Dynamic Explorer will only work with Bible Analyzer v5.6.5 and later.

Re: Dynamic Bible Explorer
Is there a list somewhere of the special characters that can be used? Or is it the regex characters?

Re: Dynamic Bible Explorer
Only normal text can be used in the Explorer. The standard Bible Analyzer Advanced Search methods in the Master Control Panel will accept regexes.
