How can one change the the voice to a more real or pleasing one permanently in the linu

As far as I know there are no other voices available for Linux.

What tts engine is being used for reading? If it is epeak I think there are more voices. If there are how would one go about changing. Would it
have to be done in the program?

It is espeak and it may have variations of the voice, but they sound much the same. BA uses the default voice.
