This would work well. I notice they have it copyrighted, but it seems to have come from pretty much public domain sources.

I had printed out the Biblehub list and was using it for awhile. I forget what I learned from my research back into the original resources.

Date systems sometimes differ according to a doctrine that an author is trying to push. Some doctrines are based on groups of dates that contradict when trying to assign a date to every chapter without gaps.

My preference is dates in the center column, but I have learned that finding a source with dates for every chapter is really hard. I keep thinking that I have found a source to only find a gap in the areas I most wanted to know what that author professed to believe.

I am happy to adopt any reasonable date system as long as it is complete.

I wish I could remember more about my research and how the Bible Hub list fit in that research. One place to check first is the dates for the Birth of Christ, beginning of ministry, and death. And then the chronological order of the EVENTS in the Acts and the Epistles. Scofield gave Christ's ministry a span of 7 years to make his stuff line up.

A harmony of St. Paul by Frank J. Goodwin provides dates for the EVENTS of acts and the epistles that support dispensationalist doctrines. I think this book might be in the public domain, but I am not sure.

The older 1960's Halleys had dates like the Bible Hub list, I think, that were starting to break away from Scofield, and was the beginning of teachers dropping dates altogether or leaving gaps.

The new Reece Bible was what I finally settled on because it was the first complete system that I could easily access the information. A lot of software and books advertise dates. but a tiny fraction of them offer a COMPLETE set of dates for the EVENTS. The shenanigans that I uncover in date systems when I sit down and look at the areas that I know are most likely to have gaps is a sad thing.

I found a public domain book that was reprinted in the late 1990's that dates the whole new Testament verse by verse and month by month and includes locations.

The reference Passage Bible New Testament

I do not see any gaps in the dates of Bullinger's Companion Bible for the Old Testament. I am not sure NT to NT between Bullinger and Johns, but I see no conflict in in using Bullinger for the OT and Johns for the NT.

Here is a link to a text file that has the timeline on Biblehub in canonical order. If it needs any additions or corrections feel free to submit them in a new file. I do not have time to do the research.

Once it is ready I will make a little script to expand the same date to every verse it covers.
i.e. "Job 1-42 - Before 2100 BC"
will cause every verse in Job to be marked with "Before 2100 BC"

I'm not sure yet how it will be incorporated, but we'll get it in Bible Analyzer one way or another.

AWESOME!!! Thank you! I am so excited to hear that! I will definitely print out the timeline and see if anything jumps out at me that should be discussed.

Maybe this is like this for a reason, but these summaries contradict the individually dated chapters. Other than that, everything looks even better than I remember it.

Psa 2-145 (Assorted) 979 BC
Psa 1-150 (Assorted) 979 BC

I think people are really going to like this!

Yes, an individual chapter date will take precedence over a span of chapters.

Also, there can be some confusion with the dates as to whether they refer to when the events occurred or when they were written. Take John 1, for instance, the list has all of John 1 as "before time", in other places it has John 1:6 as 6 AD, John 1:14 as 5 AD, John 1:15 as 26 AD, ect.

These discrepencies need to be resolved.

Furthermore, here is a list of dates from Ussher I used in the ExLBP Bloodline Chart. They are more event dates than chapter dates but are more specific in some cases.

The BibleHub dates do not match the Ussher dates, being a more modern system. I spent a long time looking at this last night and re-researching what I have forgotten. The more I study chronology, the more I understand how complicated it it. For me, this is not a faith thing; it is that man keeps changing how he measures time, making his new systems incompatible with how others are still measuring time. It is like speaking different languages. No language is "wrong" or inferior, just different.

The Biblehub system is complete and it does not contradict itself; it is a good system. The Biblehub system does contradict the entire system used in most the older resources that are already in place in BA. The Ussher system is as good or better than the Biblehub system and is my preference. I am willing to transition to any system that is complete and logical, though. I don't think the Biblehub system is the best one to add to BA, but I will support it if that is the system chosen.

I understand if you drop this project for right now. I am hoping if that is what you choose, that we can merely shelve it, and not permanently give up on it. Sometimes when we sit with something, we are primed to pounce on what God supplies later.

If you do want to purse this now or later, I will share more of what I was re-learning last night, at the time that is best for you.
