Re: Greek font corrupted in NET notes in Commentary Window

Hello Matt. I don't see a corrupt font. Are you sure that you have the correct fonts installed? I do see some errors, but they seem to be of different types. (1) I drew boxes around the b' which precedes some Greek text. (2) The letter i with a diaresis should be Gothic black letter M (indicating th...

Re: Bible Analyzer 5.4 beta (Linux)

Hello Les, What a small world. I run Linux Mint v20.3, and I also use Crossover to manage a few tools that I was unable to find good equivalents in Linux (for example, Scrivener ). Crossover has been very handy. It doesn't allow me to run anything I want, but it is sufficient for my needs. For a cou...

Re: Bible Analyzer 5.4 beta (Linux)

Since Windows 11 is now out and I cannot upgrade from Win10 to Win11 I wiped Win10 off off of my Windows Pro Book laptop and installed Debian 11. According to Microsoft, Windows 10 end-of-life is not until October 2025, so I don't see a special urgency to migrate to Windows 11. https://docs.microso...

Re: MXLinux

Hi! I'm a Linux Mint user. Since it looks like MX Linux is based on Debian, the install should work.

Download version 5.4.0.50 of Bible Analyzer for Debian here.
www.bibleanalyzer.com/bibleanalyzer_5.4-1_all.deb

Feel free to report your success or failure in installation on this forum. Thanks.

Re: is there a way to link to BA verses for use in other apps?

Wow, Tim, this is a great idea! Very nice to see this implemented. You said, "I received essentially no feedback on it" since implementing it, but I was not aware of the Links Test page , and it's not possible to navigate to it from the menu on the web site (Home, Features, Download, Modul...

Re: Font missing for the SBLGNT

Hi, Tim. On the Font Properties panel in Bible Analyzer, both of my default fonts (general and Bible) is Verdana. This may sound strange, but I thought I'd try something. I went to the SBL (Society of Biblical Literature) and looked to see if they have a free font for their SBLGNT Greek text. I foun...

Font missing for the SBLGNT

I have a missing font for the SBLGNT. I am using Bible Analyzer v5.4.1.22 for Windows 10, and several of the accented letters show up as empty boxes. See the screenshot attached to this message. I have installed all the fonts in the BA-fonts.zip file (available https://bibleanalyzer.com/download.htm...

Re: Alternate spellings?

In writing regular expressions, you may find it handy to use "cloak|cloke". The pipe functions as an OR operator to match the pattern on either side. The search module uses Perl-compatible regular expressions (PCRE), which is a very rich powerful set of regex syntax. For quick help on the ...

Module Download Manager does not sort on date

This is a bug report on the Module Download Manager for Bible Analyzer v5.4.0.50 for Linux (not tested in Windows) When all the items are displayed, there is an option to sort by Date either in ascending or descending format. However, the sort routine does not actually sort by date, because the date...

How long to become proficient in Python

Question for Tim,

How long did it take you learning and using Python to be come proficient enough to write Bible Analyzer in Python?

Do you work as a Python programmer outside of Bible Analyzer? If yes, what kind of programs or programming do you do?

Kind regards,
