Bible Analyzer 4.2 Release Candidate

Post by Tim »

We have v4.2 of Bible Analyzer ready to test. Here is a complete portable setup file with everything needed to run, http://www.BibleAnalyzer.com/bibleanaly ... -setup.exe.

What's new with this version is primarily enhanced audio and TTS features including,
  • Automatic verse scrolling and highlighting when Bible text is read.
Ability to select audio files for Bible reading with verse approximation.
Ability to select a folder to browse in Audio Player.
New dedicated sermon folder for audio sermons.
TTS voice can now read search results and books (no auto scrolling).
    Improved library searching.
    plus other enhancements.
Audio Files
v4.2 will try to register all audio files under a common folder. It will search through all files and folders trying to match files names to Bible chapters. It has been tested and optimized for this set of Alexander Scourby mp3 files of the whole Bible.

KJV Scourby Complete Bible Audio MP3 CDS

There is a set of free audio files read by Stephen Johnston available from these sites,
http://www.freeaudiobible.net/
http://www.audiotreasure.com/indexKJV.htm
http://server.firefighters.org/kjv.asp

In our opinion these files are not the same quality as the Scourby files, both in speaking and audio quality, but they are freely available. About a 900MB download for the whole Bible. Audio files by other readers should work as well.

The verse highlighting and scrolling is calculated on the fly and is not precise. It is a close approximation. If one selects a verse within a chapter to start reading, the reading may not start precisely at the beginning of the verse. In the future we may have an index that will allow precise verse timing of the Scourby files. TTS voice verse timing is precise. Auto chapter advancing is also available.

We are dealing with a company that has much more realistic voices for reading text than the default Microsoft Mary. We hope to offer these voices in the future. In the meanwhile here is an adequate voice for testing the TTS features. Just install and then select the voice in Preferences, http://rapidshare.com/files/108336122/R ... hEmily.exe

Try this out and let me know what errors or issues you may have.

Thanks,

We have revised the file parsing code some for the final release. It may catch more file name variations.

I place the mp3 files from Akexabder Scourby in C:\Program Files\Bible Analyze 4\Modules\Audio. I install the portable version. The error message only appear with Book with multiple part, all other book work fine.
Thanks
