Suggestions for the future.

First off, I wanted to say how much I love your program. I just downloaded it the other night so I am a new user. I also run it on Ubuntu and it is awesome.

Second, two features that I might suggest:

1) A sermon keeper module ala http://www.eaglesoartech.com/sermonkeeper.htm that is integrated. For
example, if I click on a verse in my sermon it brings it up in the bible section.

2) A sermon illustration module.

Version 4 of Bible Analyzer should be ready in a few weeks and it will have many new features and enhancements, including a better ability to have "live" Bible references and links in ScripturePad (the built in word processor).

One function I'd like to see is in the 'Book/Articles' area a tab named 'My Books' where I can put pastes from the other area's to make a complete Bible study. And the ability to edit and print this window. Right now I have to copy and paste in to my word processor program.

Does the ScripturePad built in word processor not work for this? One can copy/paste to/from it and save the files. It also can make live link popups. You can also export ranges of verses to it by right-click. It will also save in .rtf so the files can be opened in another word processor.

I have tried the older version of bible analyzer and was a bit satisfied. This higher version would certainly make studies faster and easier. I would be eager to try this with its new features.

Congratulations and thank you for the work you have done on this Bible software.
I am (still) interested in one feature in particular that other Bible programs don't seem to have. That is, the comparison. Currently Bible Analyzer does a good job comparing and giving the counts of the differences. I suggest that it is taken further.
1) Print out only those verses that contain differences. Print out only the differences column.
2) Summarize it! List each word that is changed and the places where the changes occur. For example, "Lord" is changed to "God" in BiBle #4, Book #17, ch.#2, verse#11; book # 19, ch.2, verse #17; etc.

If this is possible then summarizing the differences between multiple Bibles simultaneously would be even more useful because we can track all the differences from the AV to the other versions. The versions and differences could be grouped based on what texts are used and the year of publication. That way we can have a map of all the changes to the Bible over time. Is it not true that Ms. G. Riplinger spent several years doing something like this? It would be a very powerful tool to have these capabilities accessible to everyone because then we can say, "look, there are serious differences between the versions and if you don't believe me go get BA 5 and try it for yourself!"

These are good ideas but are very hard to implement for all Bibles. Let me mention why.

The comparison feature is most helpful with two texts that are quite similar. Such as the AV/AV-1611 or the AV/KJ2000, etc. But when two texts are compared that are not very similar, such as the AV/NIV etc., there are so many differences that the comparison code sees them as two completely different texts and flags every word as a difference. Thus the summary would be as large as the Bible text itself.

Because of this we added the Keyword option to the comparison utility. Using this one can compare texts using a single word. For instance, if you enter the word Christ and compare the AV with the ASV, it will list all the verses where Christ is found in the AV and NOT found in the ASV. The Bible order can be reversed to show differences the other way as well. This is a quick way to show the major or doctrinal differences between versions.

We may be able to implement some of the summary and printing ideas in the future where the differences are not extensive.
