Converting Notes Files to a Commentary File

Post by djmarko53 »

Tim,
Is it possible to simply create a Note file (.NTS) and then
convert it so that it has it's own TAB in the Commentary Panel?

Also, I would like to create a Book (with Chapters) that has a
lot of Graphics. Is there an easy way to do that, such as copy
a document, or portaion of a document from WORD into a book?

It is easy to do in LOGOS 10 (where a book is just a collection
of formatted WORD (.docx) Files. Trying to find a way where
I could copy and past text and graphics from a document as in
WORD and paste it into a Chapter in a BA Book. At first appearance
there doesn't seem to be an easy way to do that in Bible Analyzer.
In SwordSearcher it is quite easy.

I was hoping that there might be an easy way to duplicate such
a process in creating book this way in Bible Analyzer. I know that
you can do this by copying text and graphics from WORD into the
default NTS File or another Notes file which is stored int the
subdirectory at: C:\Users\mark\AppData\Roaming\Bible Analyzer

At the same time would also like to be able to do this in a similar
fashion in creating a book. Is it possible to do these things in
Bible Analyzer now, or do WE have to wait for a future version
of BA to do this?? Thanks for your help on this.

Tim,
Just thought of something. Not that my ideas bear any weight or
are worthy of consideration. But what if a user could, "Merge"
files created/saved in Scripture Pad and save them either as a
Book or Commentary?

What I was thinking is you want to create a New Testament Commentary.
You edit/save files including Graphics/Images. Matthew One would be
named "mat01.html", Matthew Two ""mat02.html," ---Revelation TwentyTwo
would .be "Rev22.htm. if Bible Analyzer could allow you to set the text
for the Tab in the Commentary Panel then let BA compile the html files as
a single Commentary (or evern a book if creating a book where each file
would be a chapter in the book.

You can probably guess that I am retired after 45 years of employment, so
I have a lot of time to babysit my dog during the day and think up weird
ideas while my wife is working her part time job.

Thanks again.

Well Tim,
It sure would help if I read the instructions first!
If I had done that, then I probably wouldn't have sent that first POST!
Guess I'm kinda like that father who wanted to assemble the bicycle
for a child a Christmas but didn't read the assembly instructions first.
If I had read the BA 5.5 manual I would have noticed that all I had to
do to convert some User Notes to a Commentary was to use the Tools
Menu and Bible Analyzer would pretty well do it for me.

As people sometimes say, "My Bad.." I should have known better.
But then you are the Designer and Creator. I'm just a BA user who
didn't pay attention. Thanks for making a great product!

This error report is not related to your issues. It deals mainly with internal code notifications.

According to the error report you sent by email the issue looks like a corrupt .nts file.

Try going to your User data folder. It is usually in,

C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\Bible Analyzer

and either move or delete the .nts files. (Bible Analyzer will make a
new default.nts)

Then see if Bible Analyzer will start.
