I have figured out how to get Bible Analyzer on Fedora 20 and CentOS 6.5 in a way that is easy for others to do!
So... to get BA on Fedora do this:
1. Download the script attached below to your “Downloads” folder.
2. Open a terminal and type(and press enter):
chmod +x ~/Downloads/iba; ~/Downloads/iba
3. Type your password when it asks for it.
4. Open Bible Analyzer.
5. Start studying God's Word!
NOTE:: If you open it and it seems unresponsive, then minimize the first start introduction window (on GNOME 3 press super+h or right click the window and click minimize.) then click “OK” on the window that is complaining about an error.
On CentOS you need to first enable EPEL. So here is the procedure:
1. Download and install http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/e ... noarch.rpm
2. Make sure you a member of the sudoers file(if you don't know what this is then you probably aren't so search Google for 'centos adding user to sudoers file' or something).
3. Download the script attached below to your “Downloads” folder.
4. Open a terminal and type(and press enter):
chmod +x ~/Downloads/iba; ~/Downloads/iba
5. Type your password when it asks for it.
6. Open Bible Analyzer.
7. Start studying God's Word!
Hope that helps someone study God's Word on Fedora and CentOS.
I have tested it on the default x86_64 install on both Fedora 20 and CentOS 6.5 (they are both GNOME installs). I hope to get time to see if I can get BA 4.8 bata running. If you have problems or any comments/questions please post!
Oh, and one thing. There is curruntly no uninstall script. If I get time I'll see what I can do about that too.
EDIT::
I just noticed that the script is not here, so I tried to add it and phpBB wont let me so here is a link to the script (right click it and save): http://linux.christopherbayliss.com.au/download/iba
