Suggested add on module

Post by Clarence Archer »

Good Morning, I would like to suggest that the Nelson Complete Study System be added as a commentary model.

Clarence,

I'm just wondering if they have the Nelson Complete Study System for the KJV? I know they have it fir the NKJV.

Thomas Nelson, like most other Bible publishers, are more interested in making money than in distributing their material. They copyright all their material and restrict its use. Furthermore, they usually only license their material to the largest software venues to maximize sales.

Fortunately, the word of God is not bound and is freely available in the Authorized Version.

Tim,

Sadly you are 100% correct. making money matter far more than helping people. I'm not opposed to making a little cash, but money is not everything.

How about NIV, NKJV, and The Message? Would these all be out of the question?

Yes, for all practical purposes they are. The publishers of these versions greatly restrict their use, and when they do grant permission to distribute they usually demand substancial fees. We will not distribute them. However, in the near future, Lord willing, we will introduce a utility that will allow users to make their own Bible modules from raw text files. Thus if someone has a licensed copy of a copyrighted translation they may be able to make a copy that will work in Bible Analyzer.

Personally, I believe these versions are inferior to the Authorized King James Version, but it would be nice to be able to compare them with Bible Analyzer's Compare feature so all the differences can be easily seen and compared.
