Vista Issues

Post by Tim »

Some users have been having problems with Bible Analyzer running under Windows Vista. It seems the main issue is Bible Analyzer won't start if the CD is installed over a previously installed download edition. From what I have been able to determine is this is because Vista treats user files (config.ini, etc.) installed in the Program Files folder differently that Windows XP. Instead of allowing the files to be copied to the application folder, Vista make a virtual application folder in another place and put the files there. These are called "Compatibility Files" and can be viewed in Windows Explorer by clicking the "Compatibility Files" button near the top.

If Bible Analyzer refuses to start in Vista, try these steps:

1. Go to folder C:/Program Files/ Bible Analyzer 3 in Explorer
2. Click the "Compatibility Files" button to view the files
3. Delete the config.ini file
4. Try to start Bible Analyzer

Tim,

As you know I have Vista. Nothing seem to work well with Vista. All kinds of people have Vista problems and not just with Bible Analyzer.

Hi Tim,

I have a VISTA computer too. I just downloaded the modules from the website - http://www.bibleanalyzer.com/modules.html>. Check out the FREE module downloads, about two-thirds of the way down the webpage. I've had no problem at all.

Before you do this though, uninstall the Bible Analyzer version that you have. It sounds like your DVD version isn't working for some reason. :-/

Let me know how it works out for you.

Take care,
Randy
