I'm running BA-4.6.5.10 in LinuxMint KDE and I'm having issues with pop up messages.
None of them seem to pop up in the AV1611 or any part of BA, the most I get is I'll see slight flash of it as though its trying to open but nothing comes of it.
Is anyone else getting this? is there as simple fix to it?

Re: Popups not Poping up
Are you referring the the Bible reference popups or any type of popup?
We tested BA on LinuxMint 14 Mate desktop but not the KDE. I don't know if there is a difference in how popups are renders between them or not. There are way too many variations of Linux available for us to test.

Re: Popups not Poping up
Any of the pop ups that are suposed to show up when hovering the mouse over something. Doesn't matter if its in the AV-1611 or the search results or any where.
As I said the it sometimes flashes slight (usually on the first attempt), but it's like something is crashing during the process.

Most errors also get logged in /var/adm/Xorg.log (or /var/log or similar directory name). Check your log directory for X's log.
I also suggest posting on Mint's forum to see if others had similar issues with wxPython pop-ups in KDE (or, google for similar issues, it's probably something that's come up for other platforms.)
I did a quick google search myself, and came across a few things with Mint. One was related to nvidia's driver for the mouse. Their suggestion was 1) try a different mouse and/or 2) try a different nvidia driver version. Not sure this would be helpful to you.

Another post was related to some config options for Mint and/or kde:

Most linux systems are pretty similar, with small differences in how they start up, what desktop they use by default, etc. The underlying system is pretty much the same. So your real issue is KDE killing the wxPython pop-ups for some reason (maybe something like KDE stomping them because it thinks you moved the mouse or it refreshes the screen too quickly. Just a guess. KDE likes leaving my sound system in a weird state that creates a high-pitched noise through the speakers.. KDE has a lot of quirky bugs. Add to it wx's interminable bugs and it'll make you pull your hair out
We all have to climb that steep learning curve sooner or later to get Linux working right (hey at least Linux gives the option to learn and FIX these things

Re: Popups not Poping up
Thanks for the info.
Yes, it is likely true that it is KDE that is killing the popups, but I just don't have time to sort it out. Similar issues with KDE is likely why it is not a primary desktop for either Ubuntu or Mint.
The popups are a wx htmlWindow, not a system popup. The same control the main panels in Bible Analyzer are.
I can only verify adequate operation on the Ubuntu (Gnome) and Mint (Mate) flavors. They seem to be the two most popular distros. If anyone tries it on another, they are welcome, but they will likely have to sort any issues out themselves. There would have to be a dozen of me to try them all (not counting Windows and Mac).
