Multiple Bible View

Postby srice » Thu Jun 30, 2016 4:25 am

Bro. Morton,

Thanks for Bible Analyzer, I really like a lot about Bible analyzer, it has good materials, it is cross platform, it works well. There is just one thing that I would love to see made a bit better. Multiple Bible Views at the same time. Working on a second language, I often need to have two Bibles open, as well as a commentary. I find it extremely helpful to have the AV open as well as the Italian Bible. Sometimes just out of curiosity I would like to open an third Bible in Spanish to see that as well. This could be useful for an English speaker that wanted to compare several versions in English as well. I know there is the dual-Bible viewer, but accessing it is a bit cumbersome. Also it cannot be saved as a default (at least I don't know how). Perhaps there is a way in the layout to create more than one Bible window? This would be idea, because then the two windows could be linked to sync, or not to sync. If I wanted to keep a primary passage open in English, and even see alternative verses in a secondary window (also in English). It could be useful for a few different things. It is just a thought.

Shane

Having another full Bible panel, or multiple Bible panels is not possible. However, you can get three Bibles showing at once by exporting and chapter to the MultiWindow. Actually, that is what I do over the Dual View. When exported to the MW the page is save in History and can be brought back up at any time. A whole MW session can be saved and reloaded. The exported pages will not be synced, but when you change a chapter just click the tab of the Bible you want to export, export it, and then click the tab back to the original Bible. Can be done very quickly.

The MW is quite powerful. See this video for some of its features, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQweysHvqP0

To view synced Bible text the Parallel tab is best. At the top of the page click the Select Texts link to show only the Bible texts you want. You can display as many as you want.

Thanks! I somehow have overlooked the MultiWindow use! That is really handy. I will be using that feature.

How did I miss this golden nugget! This is exactly what I wanted. I don't know how I overlooked it. I stumbled upon this and then went back and noticed... Yep, you had mentioned it. Thanks!
