Scripture pad in Mac

Post by Ken »

Hi Tim,
I am using a new macbook pro with Yosemite. I downloaded BA-4.92 and discovered some issues with scripture pad. I found that when I clicked the "A" button on scripture pad the dialogue box can be enlarged (green button), but there is no way to decrease the dialogue box once it is enlarged (amber button is greyed out) and no way to close it (red button is greyed out). I also found no way to save the changes in font size, either through the dialogue box or through the preferences panel. Thanks for your help. It is appreciated.

Thanks for the feedback.

We do not have Yosemite on our Mac yet (we tend to stay a version or two behind the current OS X version for backwards compatibility. Not every one updates or can update) so there may be some differences on Yosemite. We are working on v5 of Bible Analyzer and will test these issues there and will hopefully by then have a copy of Yosemite.

The font settings made in the Preferences Dialog should be saved for any new text or document. We will check it out.

Hello,

I also have Yosemite on my MacBook Pro Mid 2012. I'm still running 10.7.5 on my MacPro 1,1. If not for the Mac Pro I would not have noticed what the font selector was supposed to look like in Yosemite. The Ok/Cancel buttons at the bottom of the font selector popup window is completely missing. So, once the selector is opened, I can't OK or cancel a font change.

I have told a lot of friends about Bible Analyzer because a whole lot of my friends have recently switched from PC to MAC, and the choice of good Bible Software is much more limited. We were all Sword Searcher people because I am familiar with the Author's stand which is similar to ours.

Anyway - BA is very similar in layout to SS. It will save my friends from having to use Parallels or Virtual Box or VMWare and Windows because SS is not available on Mac.

Anyway - I'm loving BA! It's even better is some ways...though I am terribly missing one feature that is really important to me.

When writing sermon notes, I use outline format a lot! Your note panel called S-Pad (or commentary module note also) do not have bulleted lists with indenting. That's a hugely important feature to me....I use it incessantly!

If you see your way clear to add this feature, I and my brothers/sisters in Christ would be very happy! God Bless!

Thanks very much for the kind words and recommendations. They are very much appreciated and will aid in Bible Analyzer's developement.

The issue you describe with the font dialog sounds like Apple may have changed their Window display method somewhat. It would likely be simple to compensate for it if i had a copy of Yosemite to work with.

(I will need to get a copy of Yosemite before long. One issue is I live in a rural area and the several gigs download is not really possible with my limited internet service. I would like to have it on disc anyway but Apple doesn't offer it. It seems us rural users have fallen through the cracks of Apple's business plan. I would pay a reasonable price for someone with a better connection to send me a copy on disc.)

Concerning the bullets in ScripturePad. It already has them. They are in the ScripturePad menu. Just select your text and go to ScripturePad/Paragraph/Bullet List in the Main Menu.

I intend to put the Bullets in the ScripturePad toolbar in some way in v5. Which would you prefer, a dropdown button in the Toolbar that has all the contents of the Paragraph submenu in a dropdown menu or just a button for the Bullets? Space is of a concern so I can likely only add one button.

Bible Analyzer v5 is going to have a lot of nice and unique features. Many will make Bible study and message preparation easier and quicker. It will also have an Advanced Conceptual Filter that takes Bible searching to a whole new level. Hopefully, we can post some videos and screenshots of some of these features soon.

I'm sorry, I never noticed your question about the button. I noticed you have the toolbar already developed for the Windows version (i.e.. your video) and already picked. It really makes no difference to me which option you choose. Thank you so much for your consideration and for all you do to put this together.

PS: I'm a geek for Lockheed Martin and would be willing to offer any help I can to your efforts. I am mostly a systems guy, spent most of my IT career as either Sys. Admin or Deployment & Imaging specialist. I have done considerable development with VB.net, and am in the process of teaching myself C++. I plan to pick up C# after I am done w/C++ unless I find I prefer C++.

I have a LOT of Windows experience since v3.0. I am also a Mac guy & Linux guy, though I have not done much w/Linux for a year or so. In recent years I have purchased a lot of Mac hardware so I am concentrating mostly on Windows and Mac.

You have my contact info in registration but just in case you can email me at geekybryan@ Google Email. I'm writing it like that to keep bots from grabbing it and spamming me so much. :) God bless.
