Bible Analyzer 4.7 for Windows is now ready to go. (Sorry Macintosh and Linux users we will have those ready in a few days). The new and enhanced features include,

Five new pre-made layouts are available.
A Suggestion Box linked to the Quick Entry that updates as you type.
A completely new Session Manager
The Dual Window has been moved to the Bible Panel.
Can now select texts to display under the Parallel Tab
And many more enhancements

But the most notable new feature in v4.7 is the ability to do specific individual searches with our new Authorized Version People Edition Bundle (AVp).

Authorized Version People Edition Bundle

With the AVp searching that was impossible before with any Bible software is now easy with Bible Analyzer 4.7. Now one can search for specific individuals at the exclusion of others with the same name!

Want to search for just ONE of the six Mary's in the Bible? With the AVp and v4.7 it is simple.

There are nearly 3100 individuals in the Scriptures and each one has been tagged with a unique ID regardless of the name used. Many people in the Bible have more than one name. Also, many people share the same name. The AVp sorts them all out and make finding individuals easy.

The References To the Lord

The AVp has more than just the names of human people ID'd, it also has all references to God, Christ, the Holy Spirit, and "Theophanies" ID'd, including pronouns like he, him, thou, thine, my, and I! This opens up even more new ground for Bible study and searching.

For instance, try to find John 3:16 in a search for Jesus and everlasting life. It cannot be done with any Bible software because the word Jesus is not in the verse. A proximity or near-verse search with a 5 verse range will still not find John 3:16. But with the AVp searching with the ID of Jesus will find John 3:16, 5:24 and many other verses where Jesus is not mentioned by name!

The AVp Bundle includes our original Exhaustive Library of Bible People dictionary. This resource contains data such as, Name Meaning, Vital Statistics, Biography, Paternal Ancestry, Near Relation, and AV Occurrences of each of the 3084 distinct individuals found in the Scriptures.

It is hard to overstate the usefulness of the AVp Bundle when searching for people including the Lord in the Scriptures. It opens up people and word associations that could not be found by software otherwise.

See this page for more details, screenshots and a video, http://www.bibleanalyzer.com/people.htm

It took an immense amount of work of several dedicated individuals to make these resources available, and you can have the fruits of their labor for only $7.

We hope to have the Mac edition ready in a week or two.

This sounds great. Thank you.

I just began learning the Python programming language. I greatly appreciate your work on this. Considering the opensource nature of Linux and its likelihood of being around for future generations (at low cost), I'm trying to stick with Linux, although I don't bash the other OS's (Mac/Win/Android, IOS, etc.).

Thank you for making this work in Linux. Its really a great way to spread the Word (all over the world).

Also, as a middle-aged man learning Python, I am interested in your story of learning Python and how it lead to work on Bible Analyzer.

Again, thank you!

Marshall

Great work Tim.

Thank you so much for what you do for God's glory for the study of His Word.

I thank you also for your support of us in the wonderful world of Linux. Looking forward to 4.7 and the AVp.

May God continue to bless the work you do.

Marshall and Mike,

Thanks you both for your kind words. We will get to the Linux edition.

Marshall,

There are multiple reasons why I went with Python to develop Bible Analyzer, but probably the most significant one is it is free. At the time I didn't have the resources to spend $$$ for Delphi or something similar. Also, I was just learning about languages and Python was available to play with. So I stuck with it. It has grown quite a lot since I started with it. The wxPython GUI is more robust as well.

I was around 43 years old when I started to tinker with code in 2003. Bible Analyzer came about around 2006 when I wanted to make an app to compare the 1611 and 1769 editions of the AV to prove there were almost no word differences between them. I never imagined things would progress as they have.

By the way, running a Strong's search I always appreciate getting an accurate count of hits. I did a similar search using version 8 of the Bibleworks program (relatively expensive) and it only showed the total number of verses (even when asking for hits).

Thanks again for helping our studies.

May God bless your continued efforts.
