I have been meaning to test the new BA, but first I wanted to set my start up page, and I just cannot find how to do it -- looking at the manual and online. I used to know but....

I think something may be going on that is funny with the window buttons, but it would help if I started where I usually start to figure things out. Under the Beta, the start up page was dual panels, Bible and Commentary. If I tried to click on the Bible page alone, I had to do it twice to get it to come up. However, today, for the first time, on start up I get a blank top panel, with Scripture Pad and Commentary panels underneath. Usually, I start up with just a Bible page and no tree, but I cannot figure out how to do it now.

Could someone tell me, and then, I'll keep on testing.

You can change the layouts by clicking the small L button in the main menu. It will offer some preconfigured layouts.

You can also make your own layout and save it in the layout menu.

To hide the Bible Tree hit Ctrl+T to toggle.

I didn't express myself well, I think. What I am asking is, once I have a layout I like, how do I make it the start up page?

The layout will be saved when BA is closed and should be restored when opened again. Also, a layout can be saved in the layout menu to be recalled any time.

Are you seeing a different layout from what was showing when BA was closed when you run it again?

That is what I had remembered, but it is not working. On opening, I get two panels, a blank one on top, and another one, like Dictionary or Pad on bottom. If I want to go to Bible alone, I have to click the B twice. However, usually, after opening, if I just click alt + t, I get the Bible with a tree, (Or I might get the tree and Pad). Then, clicking from one type panel to the next works fine.

Also, if an error report screen comes up, the program is done. Nothing will work after that, and I have to close the program from the launcher, and then I can also close the error screen.

Hmmm.... I felt funny about installing this Beta over the existing program. I think I should have done a fresh install. However, I removed the Beta, and also did a fresh install, except it was not fresh, as I did not remove the BA folder in documents, which had a lot of Bibles and Commentaries or whatever. Maybe, I'll try to remove that folder, and then the program, and then do an install.

I removed BA and took the BA folder out of Documents and reinstalled. I did a fresh download, and still it is slow. I did not have to do anything with the .config, but maybe, that is because I already had with a prior installation.

The program starts with two panels, a blank one on top, and the commentary section on bottom. The start up cannot be changed.

Moving from verse to verse or chapter to chapter with the arrow keys worked once. Usually it does not work. If it does, it might bring up a notes panel, taking up about one-eighth of the screen.

Hitting the D button brings up the dictionary panel for a second, and then, a blank panel with the dictionary panel below.

Despite the bugs, the program seems to work pretty good.

Soon I will add more bible etc. and see how things work then.

My laptop that I was Beta testing on died. I found a cat in the yard with its head severed from its body, and not long after that, the laptop would not start. I got the laptop the day after Halloween, as another laptop died then. Hmmm....

I'm posting on a PC, 32 bit, with Ubuntu 12.10. It is a nice computer. I intend to go on Beta testing with this computer, but It will be a few days.

I have continued to test, and I have nothing further to report.

It is a very nice program!!!!

The panels do not display properly at first, as indicated previously -- but this does not bother me. I just have to click on the buttons a little bit.

The arrows do not move verse or chapter, as indicated previously -- and this would be nice to have, but it is not in any sense essential.

Basically, I like the program very much, even if the panels/arrows never get resolved.

I thank also Erasmus and Martin Luther for making BA possible.

Could you send a screenshot of what you are seeing when you first start before you adjust the panels?

For the arrow keys to work the Bible panel must have the focus. Just click on a Bible word or anywhere in the panel to give it focus.
