Re: 5.2 Beta Testing (Linux)
Robert, Your crash is caused by a bug when BA is shut down when the Parallel Tab is selected. It must have been set in the old config.ini. Until I get a new beta out, be sure the Parallel Tab is not selected when you close. Also, the old PCE file is now the AVs and it is available in the free secti...

Re: 5.2 Beta Testing (Linux)
Try running it from the command line with this:
I looked at the menu entry properties and this is the command it has for running BA.
Robert
Edit: Tim beat me to it! LOL
Code: Select all
python2 -u /opt/bibleanalyzer/ba-run.py

Re: 5.2 Beta Testing (Linux)
I was having a similar problem, but apparently BA was getting farther for me than you. It was showing the splash screen but immediately showed the error reporting dialog. I was able to get past this error by renaming the ~/.config/bibleanalyzer/config.ini file as xconfig.ini to force BA to create a ...

Re: Bible Analyzer 5 Linux Beta
Now that Ubuntu has the snap package system, maybe Tim can look into creating a snap package install for Bible Analyzer, since snaps are supposed to include all the dependencies a program needs and thereby solve all the issues of broken dependencies (in theory at least). I think the next Linux Mint ...

Re: Bible Analyzer 5 Linux Beta (Alternate Install)
Never mind, I got it to work. I uninstalled the alternate installer and then installed the normal one after locating and installing the dependencies.
Thanks!

Re: Bible Analyzer 5 Linux Beta (Alternate Install)
I've replaced my Kubuntu 15.04 installation with the new Linux Mint 7.2 distro, both to see if that improved my Bible Analyzer experience, as well as to experiment with Cinnamon as a desktop. I then downloaded and installed the Bible Analyzer alternate Linux install, but now BA will not start. Attem...

Re: Bible Analyzer 5 Linux Beta
I was preparing screenshots to show you the difference between tooltips in BA versus tooltips in other programs in KDE5, but while I was doing that, I noticed that Gimp has the same issue of tooltips with white text on a gray background. Since most other programs have white on black tooltips, I real...

Re: The Roman Jesus in "Son of God"
I tried giving their "A.D." mini-series a chance but had to stop watching after 4 or 5 episodes when I couldn't stomach it anymore. Apparently Biblical accuracy was not a priority when writing the script for this show. It seemed like only some 10 minutes or so of screen time in each episod...

Re: Bible Analyzer 5 Linux Beta
Thank you for getting the Linux Beta out so soon! I was afraid I was going to have to wait a few months before I could using Bible Analyzer again. I had upgraded to Kubuntu 15.04 the week it came out and found that it broke BA 4.9.2 no matter what "dependencies" I tried to install based on...

Re: Linux timeline for 5.0?
There are always problems. As a fellow developer, I completely understand. Features dependent on the presence of certain libraries always present a problem, even when working on a single OS. Although I use Linux at home, at work I program for Windows and still have to worry about deployment issues ...
