Re: BA on Ubuntu Mate 18.04

Thanks Tim. The folks at Ubuntu say it is probably an issue you will need to deal with. So don't know. Currently I am running on Ubuntu-Mate 17.10 and BA plays beautifully. I may move back to Linux Mint Mate 18.3 as I feel Mint 19 will possibly play better with BA than Mate 18.4. I have one more tes...

Re: BA on Ubuntu Mate 18.04

Hi Tim,
Well I have installed everything I can find relating to pil and/or pillow and/or willow - and I still get the same "dependency is not satisfied ..." error message. Is there any package you can think of that those dependencies rely on? Thanks Tim

BA on Ubuntu Mate 18.04

I can run BA on Peppermint OS 8, Ubuntu Mate 17.10 and all versions of Linux Mint and it works beautifully. But I tried it on Ubuntu Mate 18.04 Beta 2 and have the following error: "Error: Dependency is not satisfied: Python imaging (>=3.1)" I can drop back to Ubuntu Mate 17.10 and again B...

AHLB and Adopted Roots

Hi Tim, The AHLB is a superb module for researching the Hebrew pictographic language and I appreciate your putting it out for BA. But I am having an issue. When you study a word, say Strong's H1285 (ber-eeth') and you scroll to the bottom and see the "Adopted Roots" section. Here you have ...

Scripture Pad Request

Hi Tim, I know we have discussed this in the past, but I want to raise it again as we're approaching time for the next round of features for BA. I would LOVE to have S-Pad re-written so it: 1. Uses a different data format, such as RTF or HTML. This would allow much easier data sharing between differ...

Re: 5.2 Beta Testing (Linux)

New Linux release! Tim has posted a nerw Linux release, 5.2.1.01, which will be the final release before the official release. It looks good. He fixed a couple of issues, and the release appears very solid! Give it a look. It is under the same position as the first page deb package.

Re: 5.05 and 5.2 hang in Ubuntu 16.10

I ran e-Sword for a LONG time, then switched to theWord probably 5 years ago and have now been with BA for quite awhile. I have 32 Gib of apps on theWord, just about everything BA has to offer and about 4 Gib of apps on MySword. I have played with Xiphos quite a bit, but don't really care for it. Ti...

Re: 5.05 and 5.2 hang in Ubuntu 16.10

Because Tim develops (and Tim correct me if I am mistaken) on linux Mint you might just go with it. Even though I have played with a lot of derivatives I keep going back to Linux Mint, and now with version 18.3 it just works - with everything I throw at it! So I am pretty much home for good! The onl...

Re: 5.05 and 5.2 hang in Ubuntu 16.10

Is that straight Ubuntu or a derivative? If it is straight Ubuntu you might try either ubuntu mate or just go with Linux Mint.

Re: 5.05 and 5.2 hang in Ubuntu 16.10

I have used it on Linux Mint since version 14.10, Ubuntu Studio, Ubuntu Mate, and several others I cannot recall now. I just read you were initially on Ubuntu 16.10.
