Christmas Special, Free Softmaker Office
Until the end of the year, Softmaker (out of Germany) is offering Softmaker Office 2008 for free, and also an 80 fonts package. This did cost about $100, as does Softmaker Office 10, which isn't that much different. It is decent software and probably better than OpenOffice -- and best of all, it has...

Re: Ubuntu ppa repository for testing
Yes it was a learning process for me as well, but I agree, it was a necessary step. Actually, I had never heard of PPA before. Now I find this article as linked, which indicates PPA is a major security risk. What do you think? http://jeffhoogland.blogspot.com/2010/11/ubuntu-ppa-problem-reason-for-c...

Re: Ubuntu ppa repository for testing
Shane, Ok, it all installed. I'll paste all the info from the terminal on the installation below for your review, but changing the computer name to XXX. Note the part about some index files failed to download, so they were ignored or old ones used. I don't know if that is significant. Note the part ...

Re: Ubuntu ppa repository for testing
Paul, What version of Ubuntu are you using? You should be able to go to System -> About Ubuntu and it will tell you what version you are using, 10.10 Maverick Meerkat or 10.04 Lucid Lynx. If it isn't one of those two, the ppa isn't going to work for your version. Please let me know what version you...

Re: Ubuntu ppa repository for testing
Shane,
I un-installed BA.
I typed in the first terminal command as indicated in this topic thread.
Here is the response I got.
Error: can't find signing_key_fingerprint at https://launchpad.net/api/1.0/~shane2pe ... leanalyzer
So, what do you want me to do next?
Paul

Re: Ubuntu ppa repository for testing
Shane, I'm not certain what you mean by "brave," as it looks rather straight forward and without risk. According to your initial post, I think I should uninstall BA and then put in the three terminal commands as you have indicated and then report on what happens. I don't think I'll hurt an...

Re: Ubuntu ppa repository for testing
What is ppa? I have BA installed on a laptop with Ubuntu 10.04. But I don't know if I should want ppa or to test it.
Interesting web site you have. Where do you keep the chart on the 1,000 examples on the Reina Valera? Actually, I've never heard of the Reina Valera Gomez.

Re: Modules For Linux
I don't understand. In Linux, I unzipped the downloaded folder, which created a new folder, and I moved the resources to the corresponding folder within the Modules folder -- dictionaries to the Dictionary folder, commentaries to the Commentary folder. One would think that adding the bundles in Wind...

Re: Modules For Linux
Actually, I wonder how the beta testing went for Windows on 3.9. I installed 3.9 portable in Windows, so that I could download some modules and transfer them to Linux. One would think the process of installing modules would be the same for Windows as Linux. But it is not. After downloading Windows m...
